Mobile 3D Mammography

Did you know that 1 in every 8 women will face breast cancer during her lifetime? That means YOU have an approximate 12% chance of having breast cancer. We should discuss things in your personal and family history that increase this percentage (such as dense breast tissue or close family members with breast and/or ovarian cancer at a young age). Regardless of these factors, according to the American Cancer Society, a screening breast mammogram can be done every year starting at age 40 and then every two years from about 55 to 75.

Mammograms are classified as either 2D or 3D (also referred to as tomosynthesis). Think of 2D as a Polaroid and 3D as a digital picture. So image quality is better with 3D, but that typically comes with higher radiation exposure. The Boob Bus offers the best of both worlds, using 3D/tomosynthesis with the cutting-edge Senographe Pristina instrument by GE Healthcare. This is the only FDA-approved 3D instrument that delivers the same low-dose radiology as the lowest FDA-approved 2D units.

Injectables

Grandma Nancy.jpg

Hate those wrinkles on your forehead, between your eyebrows, and around your eyes? Then we have news for you! There is an FDA-approved treatment that smooths those out for a good 3 months. You'll look and feel more bright and refreshed! Who doesn't want that?!

Essentially, neuromodulator injectables (such as Botox® and Dysport®) are a way of keeping those muscles still and calm so they can't create more wrinkles. So in many ways, these injections are preventative as much as they are a treatment!

The specific facial site of the delivery, and how much treatment you want, is up to you in consult with our certified nurse injectors. Many women elect a full treatment every several months. Or maybe you want a quick touch up between the eyes so your frown isn't as fierce? There is a tiny little poke/pinching sensation each time the needle is injected  (perhaps 4-5x per treatment session), but it is minimal. Most women don't even need or want ice, but we have the cutest little ice packs if you do!

Our standard pricing is is $12 per unit of Botox® or Botox-equivalent units (because it typically requires more units of Dysport® to achieve the same effect as Botox®). And if you paid an individual or party booking fee, we will apply that towards the cost of your treatment or service. Also, check out our price discounts for private parties!

Genetic Testing

You know Angelina Jolie and Christina Applegate, right? They made the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes even more famous. When a woman has a damaging genetic variant in one of these genes (and there are other similar genes like ATM which is found in Doris Jean's family), they can have up to an 80% lifetime risk of breast cancer and 40% lifetime risk of ovarian cancer. Having this information in advance can help you take preventative action, customize treatment, and alert other family members.

We can help assess your personal risk for having one of these gene variants through a fast and easy saliva collection kit. Furthermore, when you complete the forms section, you will be answering questions that help us determine your personal lifetime risk of breast cancer, which will be reported in your mammogram results.

There are hundreds of genetic tests you could choose. For the Boob Bus, we have selected a test to tell you about cancer risk (breast, ovarian, colon, prostate, pancreas, and more), certain heart conditions, and medication response (pharmacogenetics) to name a few.
